The Epicurian Organisation

A life of ease
luxury harmony
& pleasure
Ignoring the history behind the name an Epicurian is defined as:
  • One enjoying a life of ease, luxury, harmony and pleasure.
Quite simply the purpose, aims and goals of the Epicurian Organisation is to give human beings worldwide a life of ease, luxury, harmony and pleasure: an epicurian life. The Epicurian Organisation encompasses several sections - fund raising, education, publicity, etc. of which the Epicurian Party is the political movement.

This epicurian lifestyle: of ease, luxury, harmony and pleasure, must surely be the ultimate aspiration of mankind and all societies. Even the ancient Romans and Greeks attempted to achieve this through slavery, conquest and other means. Now today, in the 21st Century through technology - by applying and using his intellect - man could easily achieve this for the masses without slavery, oppression and the exploitation that past civilisations attempted.
I was a child of the 1960s and believed the solution to man's problems lay in technology and its application. Indeed goods became widely available and cheap. Quality of life started to improve - an epicurian future looked feasible and highly likely. Then "the politicians" and society lost track, things started to get worse. Unemployment started to increase, companies made less profits, jobs and companies moved abroad chasing cheaper wages and things became worse. For the few last decades jobs have become more scarce, companies are making less money, the stock market is unstable and performing poorly, people are working harder, longer hours, for less pay, in fear of their job. Things have been getting worse: NOW it is time we "got back on track" and started making life and the world a better place.

In this the 21st Century it is time that man created an Epicurian society:
a society and lifestyle as fantastic as his technical achievements.

An epicurian lifestyle sounds good, but what do these four words mean?
What kind of society would result from an Epicurian government?
